City agency to hold meeting on thousands of Road Home Properties it’s acquired
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007On Nov. 28th at 6:30 p.m., the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) and the City of New Orleans’ Office of Recovery Management will hold a public forum discussing the expected transfer of approximately 7,000 Louisiana Land Trust properties to NORA over the next 18 months.The meeting will take place in the New Orleans City Council Chambers, located at 1300 Perdido Street, and will allow the public to gain information and give input about the plan for disposing of the properties. LLT properties comprise those sold back to the state as part of the Louisiana Road Home program.
The forum will in part address the over 20,000 potential pieces of abandoned, tax delinquent or blighted properties.

Since Katrina, this agency has not been very involved in the recovery from what I can see, so hopefully this meeting (and the responsibility of holding onto thousands of Road Home properties) will change that.
